Take a trip to Liberty Garden and capture a Victini!

Keldeo will learn a special move when brought to the Moor of Icirrus in Pokémon Black or White

Meloetta will learn a special move when brought to a cafe in Castelia City in Black or White

Many of these entries mention a “Fateful Encounter” Pokémon – these are Pokémon received directly from events, who have their “Met” data set as “(Apparently) Had a Fateful Encounter”. Bringing a normally caught Pokémon that would otherwise fulfill these requirements will not work. For Example, a regular Shiny Pichu will not unlock anything, but the “Fateful Encounter” Shiny Pichu will.

  • Pikachu Colored Pichu
    • When a “Fateful Encounter” Shiny Pichu is brought to HeartGold or SoulSilver, and is set as the Walking Pokémon, interact with the Ilex Shrine in Ilex forest. This will unlock the rare Spiky-Eared Pichu!

  • Shiny Raikou, Entei, or Suicune
    • When brought to Black or White via the Pokémon Relocator function (not the Poké Transporter!) bring a “Fateful Encounter” member of the trio with you to the northern part of Lostlorn forest, and you’ll find a Zoroark! Catch it and it’s yours!

  • Celebi
    • In HeartGold and SoulSilver, if a “Fateful Encounter” Celebi is brought to the Ilex Shrine in the Ilex Forest while walking after defeating Team Rocket at the Goldenrod Radio Tower, Celebi will take you back in time to battle a mysterious foe!
    • When brought to Black or White via the Pokémon Relocator (not the Poké Transporter!), Bring a “Fateful Encounter” Celebi with you to the GameFreak Headquarters in Castelia City, and talk to a boy on the ground floor. You’ll be in for a surprise!

  • Jirachi
    • When you obtain a Jirachi in HeartGold or SoulSilver, it will unlock a special course for the Pokéwalker, Night’s Sky Edge!

  • Keldeo
    • In Pokémon Black and White, if the player enters the Moor of Icirrus with a “Fateful Encounter” Keldeo, an old man will appear and tell the story of how Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion took care of Keldeo after a fire separated it from its parents. If the player also has Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion in the party (or returns with them), they will teach Keldeo Secret Sword and it will change to its Resolute Form. The player may also return at any time with all four Pokémon to learn the move again if Keldeo does not know it.
    • In Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, if the player has caught Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion and they bring a “Fateful Encounter” Keldeo to Pledge Grove, Keldeo can learn Secret Sword. Upon interacting with the rock face at the north end of the grove, Keldeo will attempt to come out of its ball; if let out, the mark left by Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion will make it remember the move Secret Sword and it will change to its Resolute Form.
  • Meloetta
    • In Pokémon Black, White, Black 2, and White 2, if the player brings a “Fateful Encounter” Meloetta to Café Sonata in Castelia City, it can learn Relic Song from a guitarist there. Upon speaking to the guitarist, he will play a song his mother loved and Meloetta will emerge from its Poké Ball to dance, changing forms back and forth. Afterwards, the guitarist shares a tale told by his mother, of a Pokémon who lost its melody when the world was darkened by sorrow. If the player talks to the woman in the café afterwards, the Funfest Mission “The Berry-Hunting Adventure!” will also be unlocked.
